Claire Bailey is the Head of School at Bolsover Church of England Junior School which is part of a federation with St Joseph’s Catholic and Church of England Primary School. Bolsover Church of England Junior School is a large junior school with 286 children currently on role. The school is a Microsoft School as well as a Gold Food for Life Gold Flagship School.
Claire began her teaching career at Bolsover Church of England Junior School in 2008. Her areas of expertise include RE, Collective Worship, Pupil Voice and English as well as teaching and learning across the school. Claire works closely with NQT’s at Bolsover as well as recently qualified and established staff developing their practice when planning (using coaching and modelling), teaching (including team teaching) and assessing. Claire supports other staff and leadership work at St. Joseph’s in areas such as developing the quality of teaching and learning through planning, delivery and marking and feedback of work. Claire has also worked with other schools on a variety of things including developing School Parliament and Pupil Voice, RE and Collective Worship, Farming and English.
Katie Turner teaches at Alfreton Park Special School. She has recently become part of the middle leadership team with her main responsibilities including PSHCE, residential stays, P.E and key stage 3.
Katie has worked at Alfreton Park Special School for 8 years as a teaching assistant and now a teacher. As part of her role, Katie has led INSET day training, organised a range of events and has supported students through their teacher training.
Katie is passionate about pupils reaching their full potential and looks forward to sharing her knowledge with others and to continue with her professional development which includes studying for her masters degree in severe and profound multiple learning difficulties.
